Free Download: Banished

We were waiting for this one since when it was revealed the last year, and gladly, we were right. Banished is a ton of strategical fun that came out on Steam less than 2 days ago, despite the super appropriate price though, we felt like there would have been a lot of people that could've used a free download. So here we are!

Banished is a third person town-building strategy game where you take control of a group of travelers determined to settle down in a new place having almost no resources at start. The game does not follow the skill trees schemes that often times are preventing you to build what you want at the right point in time. You're free of managing your workers in all the possible way right from the very beginning; which is what makes the game so appealing overall.

There are a lot of occupations, from the basic ones, to the most innovative ones such as teaching or perhaps healing. In fact, it's basically a simulator rather than just a mere strategy game. The winter is one of the most deadly threats for your people, but so is hunger, and guess who's the only one in charge of dealing with these? YOU!

The free download can be obtained right below here, don't waste your time here!

Free Download: Godus

Let's just say that there was enough time to prepare another release before the new year kicked in. And since we've seen Godus performing quite well during the Steam winter sales, we thought that someone might have been interested in finding the free download of the latest beta version.

It's a god game simulator, or at least something that could quite fall in such genre if it existed, there's not a lot of strategy involved, instead, it already proposes a magnificent gameplay focused on going through a pre-scripted path that will see your civilization growing in number and strength. At first, you need to make space in order to let your followers create a settlement. There's a lot of clicking business to do, but the animations as well as the soundtrack make even the most tedious task a pleasant moment.

The gameplay of Godus is weird to say the least, because together with what you would assume as pretty normal stuff in a 3rd person strategy game, it also involves the collection of cards yielded for achieving various in-game goals. Though that's why we're here, the game is innovative to the point that won't probably appeal everyone, and a free download of it is what I'm sure you'll love.

Give it a shot, you can't judge until you try; the free download should take a few minutes with an acceptable internet connection. Oh, happy new year!

Free Download: Prison Architect alpha 15

What's up? It's already December! And since we want to close our first year of business with a smile on our faces, please, let us know the game you want us to put up for free. Today we thought that someone might be interested in the latest build (alpha 15) of Prison Architect, released in fact, just a few days back.

But you don't really have to be already into the game, this free download is a game in itself, you don't have to own Prison Architect to be able to play it right away. Have you ever wondered about how cool but extremely time consuming can managing a prison be? Now you can, in this top down strategical management game you're going to be facing all the troubles and rewards that a real manager has.

Inmates coming in, others going out as free men. Keep the place clean and healthy though, or they might start a riot. In Prison Architect the first problem is learning how to spend the limited money you have, there are officers, the warden, workers of all sort to be paid on a monthly basis, but you need to keep everything functioning at the same time! Believe me, once you decide to go on your own after having tried the tutorial there will be a little room for errors, they're criminals after all.

Get your free download of the latest alpha 15 below, have fun, but don't screw up! This is serious business.

Free Download: Signal Ops

Here we have an uncommon release, and it's certainly not because the game chosen isn't wonderful as always, but mostly because Signal Ops has been originally released a lot of time ago. However, since it finally hit Steam less than a week ago, we thought that someone might still be interested in trying it out, perhaps as a free download?

It's a stealth-strategy game in which you'll be able to control up to 4 agents simultaneously to pursue the goal that's been set for every level. It's hard, it's harder than most of the games that I can recall right now. Moreover, instead of looking at the scenario in a third person perspective, you'll have the chance to display everyone's sight through a few monitors sitting at the headquarters. In Signal Ops in fact, you're letting the others work for you, it's better to make recruits risk their life.

The crucial part of the game is the radio needed to communicate, it has a battery that lasts for only 30 seconds and if you won't find regularly power sockets to recharge it while executing the mission, you might end up by losing the guys on the other side. Which is basically how I lost every single time in my very first run. But once you get the hang of it, Signal Ops gets better, significantly, and here's why you should try the free download of it!

It's been a while since we managed to upload a game worth more than 1 GB, but we had to do it. Give it a go by downloading it below.

Free Download: Democracy 3

We've changed our mind, after having spent some time in Democracy 3 we decided that it had to be our next free download, despite it looking pretty hard to get into, because once you get the hang of things the fun is infinite!

And even though you might not be the person who likes having to deal constantly with statistics, flowcharts and overly complex interfaces, after the first match everything will look so simple that you'll dive into the next one without hesitation, that's guaranteed! In fact, Democracy 3 can be described as the most advanced strategical game who treats real problems of real countries. After all, haven't you always wanted to be the prime minister of your country?

Taking decisions is quite hard, because the entire population is divided into faction, and whether a few might like the fact that you've increased the taxes (I wonder who, really) the poor and mid-earners will start a revolution. Crime level needs to be kept under control, and what's better than increasing the number of armed policemen? Perhaps something should, but in either case, this way does work just fine!

But I can understand that reading about such a complex game can be disorientating, so, just scroll down till our free download. It's less than 150MB, you should have it in less than 5 minutes!

Free Download: Zafehouse Diaries

Just about 3 days after its Steam release here we come with the free download of Zafehouse Diaries, a game that's been loved way before his latest appearance on the most famous digital gaming platform. In fact, the game's not exactly new, as it was firstly released on GOG and Desura months ago with a decent success, I would say.

Zafehouse Diaries is a strategical zombie game developed and published by Screwfly Studios with a very solid and evolved relations system. The graphics are almost entirely static, though the game shines definitely elsewhere, for instance when it comes to having to deal with troubles of any kind inside of the group of 5 survivors you'll have to manage and keep safe. And aside the fact that there are 2 modes, the sauce is always the same: don't let them fight against eachother because the one and only enemy is going to be the brain-eater swarm.

A match takes place in a small town randomly generated with always different kind of resources and level of difficulty, you can make your survivors hunt down the zombies - providing you have enough bullets - build traps with tools that have been found, or even make them passively wait to be rescued, who knows, it might work!

Anyway, it's rather hard to understand how hard can a match be if you haven't already played it, someone will always accuse a mate of stealing, the girl will be always threatened by the big fat guy and so on. That's why Zafehouse Diaries will prove whether you've a good sense of management or not. Hit our free download below here and have fun!

Free Download: Game Dev Tycoon

At last even our first free download of September is live! This time featuring a whole new strategy/simulation concept, after all, aren't you sick of playing games that look all the same? If that is the case we are proud to announce that we've the critically acclaimed Game Dev Tycoon now, and considering how fast was its Greenlight campaign before the official acceptance onto Steam, this one HAD TO BE GOOD.

It basically makes the player play as a completely independent game developer that started in his garage with a some spare money to invest and a lot of great ideas to make successful games. Throughout the time that passes quite fast you're going to be assisting once again at all the greatest console launches along the evolution of the personal computer, and since we all know which had been more popular, we should also be able to take the right choices while deciding on which platform your games are going to be released.

The press can be cruel when it comes to judge a new idea you bravely decided to create, perhaps a space-FPS for girls was definitely a bad concept haha - can't deny I really tried to make that game, virtually. But if you really manage to survive your first 5 years in your garage and you get the money rolling in, at one point you're going to be wanting to expand, hiring programmers and maybe even setting up a company's office. In all honesty, to enjoy Game Dev Tycoon you have to be that person who dreamed of creating his own games, or simply by being ready for a hard challenge.

And thankfully, the free download by us provided is just below here, have a lot of fun. Oh, don't be afraid of experimentating new mixtures of genres, one might become the real shit!

Free Download: Skulls of the Shogun

Here we are again, this time we're glad to announce that the brand new PC release Skulls of the Shogun is uploaded, as always, this comes as a free download, and I can't deny my satisfaction for having it. The game became popular a while back on the Xbox 360 market, where it actually received lots of awards and has been praised by the press with incredibly high scores. But then again, let's briefly go through the main features that made this RTS standing amond the rest.

It certainly comes with a whole new concept of making strategy, and instead of making the player in the position of controlling huge armies in real time, Skulls of the Shogun treats every match as if it was a chess one. It's turn based, and every single soldier can make the difference between a loss or a honorable victory. Adding also a few minor tweaks such as making your allies eating enemies skulls, taking advantage of ledges and ultimately the hilarious take at the dialogues between you and the CPU are what make this game shine. Almost 15 guaranteed hours of single-player, several other challenges that will drive you crazy, this free download is probably the one with more ways of keeping yourself entertained that we've ever had!

Keep also in mind that what we have pulled out is the latest Steam version, which makes you able to play in multiplayer through the "Skulls-anywhere" method, a cross platform competitive mode where all you need is an iternet connection in order to compete agains your friends, no matter if they're on a tabled, on another PC, or even their Xbox.

So, without further ado, I suggest you to click on the download button below where you'll be able to download the game, again, absolutely for free at a reasonable speed. Have a lot of fun and come back often since many releases will follow very shortly.

Free Download: Reus

Mother of god(s)! Reus, today's free download, belongs to the particular and not-so-crowded niche of the "divinity simulators", but playing god may be harder than you thought.

When you first start a new game of Reus, you land on a plain, lifeless, dry planet, with four titans by your side. First of all, some "terraforming" is needed, either ordering your stone colossus to raise a mountain, thereby creating a desert, or your water-crab-giant to dig an ocean, thus watering land that can be turned into a swamp or forest. Very soon the first settlers will come and colonize your lands raising free villages. Each village needs wealth, food and technology (free wi-fi, yay!) to grow prosperous, and who's on duty of providing such resources? Yeah, you, allmighty reader. After all, we already provided the free download, our task is beyond fullfillment.

In every game of Reus you'll find yourself planting trees, settling caves, dropping minerals and deploying animals making sure that their combinations satisfies the requirements for symbioses, that alter the production in those sites in terms of different or more abundant resources, buff and bonuses, and open the path to new evolutions. Encouraging growth, villagers will get greedy and increasingly develop more complex needs. But take care not to let them grow too fast, otherwise they'll try to takeover the other settlements, and once again you'll have to call in your giants

For what regards graphics, Reus is minimalistically yet carefully designed and stylistical choices never disappoint. Your titans look majestic and deeply characterized, and environment influences the looks of resources depending on the type of field they're set in, so that similar resources end up appearing completely different every single time.

Well, you had the free download, now it's time to put your divine ass to work.
