Free Download: Reus

Mother of god(s)! Reus, today's free download, belongs to the particular and not-so-crowded niche of the "divinity simulators", but playing god may be harder than you thought.

When you first start a new game of Reus, you land on a plain, lifeless, dry planet, with four titans by your side. First of all, some "terraforming" is needed, either ordering your stone colossus to raise a mountain, thereby creating a desert, or your water-crab-giant to dig an ocean, thus watering land that can be turned into a swamp or forest. Very soon the first settlers will come and colonize your lands raising free villages. Each village needs wealth, food and technology (free wi-fi, yay!) to grow prosperous, and who's on duty of providing such resources? Yeah, you, allmighty reader. After all, we already provided the free download, our task is beyond fullfillment.

In every game of Reus you'll find yourself planting trees, settling caves, dropping minerals and deploying animals making sure that their combinations satisfies the requirements for symbioses, that alter the production in those sites in terms of different or more abundant resources, buff and bonuses, and open the path to new evolutions. Encouraging growth, villagers will get greedy and increasingly develop more complex needs. But take care not to let them grow too fast, otherwise they'll try to takeover the other settlements, and once again you'll have to call in your giants

For what regards graphics, Reus is minimalistically yet carefully designed and stylistical choices never disappoint. Your titans look majestic and deeply characterized, and environment influences the looks of resources depending on the type of field they're set in, so that similar resources end up appearing completely different every single time.

Well, you had the free download, now it's time to put your divine ass to work.
