Free Download: Godus
Let's just say that there was enough time to prepare another release before the new year kicked in. And since we've seen Godus performing quite well during the Steam winter sales, we thought that someone might have been interested in finding the free download of the latest beta version.
It's a god game simulator, or at least something that could quite fall in such genre if it existed, there's not a lot of strategy involved, instead, it already proposes a magnificent gameplay focused on going through a pre-scripted path that will see your civilization growing in number and strength. At first, you need to make space in order to let your followers create a settlement. There's a lot of clicking business to do, but the animations as well as the soundtrack make even the most tedious task a pleasant moment.
The gameplay of Godus is weird to say the least, because together with what you would assume as pretty normal stuff in a 3rd person strategy game, it also involves the collection of cards yielded for achieving various in-game goals. Though that's why we're here, the game is innovative to the point that won't probably appeal everyone, and a free download of it is what I'm sure you'll love.
Give it a shot, you can't judge until you try; the free download should take a few minutes with an acceptable internet connection. Oh, happy new year!

Free Download: Teslagrad
Christmas is coming, and since we have no idea if this may indeed be our last release for this December, let us wish you a MERRY CHRISTMAS. But it doesn't really feel enough, so here we go with another free download! Teslagrad has been released on all the major digital platforms now and I'm not ashamed of declaring I've personally been tracking its progress since it was a tiny bugged little alpha.
It's a puzzle platformer that shines for its beautiful hand drawn visuals (the backgrounds are astounding) but also because of its cleverness. If you've never been good with physics in high school this game might not be suitable to your likes, as you're going to be dealing with magnetic powers granted to the main character by a magical glove. I know, that sound quite weird, but as you dive in, things will become way more clear.
In addition, while pondering on complex riddles that you're going to face once you'll pass the first couple of levels, Teslagrad will silently tell its story, a tale that can be sensed, rather than read. I must admit, I'm not the kind of person that loves puzzles; ok, I hate them because they make me feel stupid and yet, with this game coming as a free download I had no troubles at all! So don't worry about what you're about to get into, the game has certainly a casual spirit while still being a masterpiece of visual narrative.
Get Teslagrad for free now! Have fun and we'll see you later.

Free Download: Race The Sun
Ok, we're in love with this. Race The Sun came out on Steam a few days ago after its tough Greenlight campaign, and now that the whole world knows about this magnificence, a free download was needed.
It's an endless arcade runner based on going as far as you can with your spaceship that uses as its only fuel the solar energy. If you like speeding, dodging dynamic obstacles and abstract worlds, chances that you might enjoy Race The Sun are terribly high. Moreover, for those really into competitive business, the game comes also with an online leaderboard where the most brave players can compete.
Your score increases just by playing, but if you really want to kick your experience to the next level I would suggest you to try to catch the pyramids that will grant you 100 points. In addition, since every day has an end, you'll be also in need of increasing its duration by firstly unlocking the objects, and then by catching them along your way as well.
There hasn't ever been a lot to say about these games, you know if it might be appealing to your likes or not, but since we're giving it as a free download, why don't you take it anyway?

Free Download: Starbound
Damn, we hate being late on something as big as Starbound turned out to be; it was expected, that's clear, but not this much! If you're still looking for a way of playing the game without having to pay upfront you're in the right place, our free download is finally up. It's been quite hard, but let's not complain about our uploading issues.
In case you don't know what Starbound is (is that even possible?), it's the brand new 2D sci-fi open world survival game made by none other than the man who's already behind the cult title Terraria. And despite many obvious similarities, this one has much more potential as well as a wider range of things to keep you always entertained at any point in time. There are 6 playable races, each with some peculiar racial treats, and after having ran out of fuel, all you can do is to teleport yourself on an unexplored planet from which your procedurally generated adventure will start.
Unlike similar titles, you're not left alone from the very beginning, so instead of having to figure out everything, a simple quest-line will guide you through the basics of survival. The crafting system is complex, and throughout the endless exploration you're going to be finding thousand of unique items needed to create stronger armors and weapons. In essence, you'll never find anything that can possibly remind of anything you've seen before, including dungeons, boss battles and much more.
Are you a co-op kind of person? perhaps a PVP one? Starbound has everything! And we have its free download right below here, what are you waiting for?

Free Download: Prison Architect alpha 15
What's up? It's already December! And since we want to close our first year of business with a smile on our faces, please, let us know the game you want us to put up for free. Today we thought that someone might be interested in the latest build (alpha 15) of Prison Architect, released in fact, just a few days back.
But you don't really have to be already into the game, this free download is a game in itself, you don't have to own Prison Architect to be able to play it right away. Have you ever wondered about how cool but extremely time consuming can managing a prison be? Now you can, in this top down strategical management game you're going to be facing all the troubles and rewards that a real manager has.
Inmates coming in, others going out as free men. Keep the place clean and healthy though, or they might start a riot. In Prison Architect the first problem is learning how to spend the limited money you have, there are officers, the warden, workers of all sort to be paid on a monthly basis, but you need to keep everything functioning at the same time! Believe me, once you decide to go on your own after having tried the tutorial there will be a little room for errors, they're criminals after all.
Get your free download of the latest alpha 15 below, have fun, but don't screw up! This is serious business.

Free Download: Savant - Ascent
Being an our all-time favourite, here at We Made Them Free, we were just waiting a day close to its Steam release to unveil our free download of Savant Ascent. Needless to say that the moment has finally come, and since it was anyway available for quite a long time on its site, we haven't really done anything more shady than what we are used to!
It's a tribute game to the growing DJ star Savant, if you didn't know that already, it features a soundtrack completely produced by himself, and you're going to end up by loving it if you're into slightly retro-looking games. An arcade action platformer done right I would say, where despite having no clues about the story that stands behind the whole experience, we've already spent countless hours simply trying to beat each other's highscore.
Dodge, shoot and collect pieces of CDs that will unlock upgrades as well as new songs to listen while playing. Savant Ascent is a wonderful tricky adventure easy to play, but completely hard to master. Unfortunately, we understand that paying for such a rather short game might not be ideal to everyone, so, consider our free download like a late Thanksgiving gift if you prefer!
Now get your eyes off these words and proceed with the super lightweight free download that we provide. Have lots of fun with this one!

Free Download: Signal Ops
Here we have an uncommon release, and it's certainly not because the game chosen isn't wonderful as always, but mostly because Signal Ops has been originally released a lot of time ago. However, since it finally hit Steam less than a week ago, we thought that someone might still be interested in trying it out, perhaps as a free download?
It's a stealth-strategy game in which you'll be able to control up to 4 agents simultaneously to pursue the goal that's been set for every level. It's hard, it's harder than most of the games that I can recall right now. Moreover, instead of looking at the scenario in a third person perspective, you'll have the chance to display everyone's sight through a few monitors sitting at the headquarters. In Signal Ops in fact, you're letting the others work for you, it's better to make recruits risk their life.
The crucial part of the game is the radio needed to communicate, it has a battery that lasts for only 30 seconds and if you won't find regularly power sockets to recharge it while executing the mission, you might end up by losing the guys on the other side. Which is basically how I lost every single time in my very first run. But once you get the hang of it, Signal Ops gets better, significantly, and here's why you should try the free download of it!
It's been a while since we managed to upload a game worth more than 1 GB, but we had to do it. Give it a go by downloading it below.

Free Download: PixelJunk Shooter
Oh, I guess it was time to give you a nice casual game, not everyone of us can be a hardcore gamer. PixelJunk Shooter, released less than a week ago on Steam is exactly what we were looking for, a perfect adventure to relax while keeping still high the brain-work requirement, and as always it's a free download!
In PixelJunk Shooter you're going to be driving a tiny spaceship through numerous levels where if it wasn't for your dimensions, you'd be crashing into one of those tight tunnels you'll have to explore. The goal here is simple, the mothership has received an SOS from a planet, and you'll have to rescue as many people scattered in the underground as you can. The 2D almost sketchy graphic is a pleasure to be seen, and even sound-wise, the game didn't really left me disappointed.
I was skeptic, like I believe many others are. That's why I suggest you to get our free download before thinking about buying the game. You'll be invested by a wave of cuteness that will make you fall in love with it.
Get it down here or regret it forever! No, seriously, PixelJunk Shooter is a great arcade-ish adventure at which you'll be hooked for a good amount of time if you only decide to hit the start button!

Free Download: Risk of Rain
We're genuinely pumped to present you the free download of Risk of Rain! Faster than anyone else and as easy as 1, 2, 3. I remember when back in the days I used to play what was just the prototype of this game for countless hours, and now that it's been finally released on Steam in all its greatness, well, God only knows how many time will I spend with it.
It's a sidescrolling action roguelike with a wonderful pixel art, as well as a groovy soundtrack that I couldn't do anything other than loving it. Moreover, there are now various classes to mess with, and I definitely spent the first day simply learning how to play with just a few of them. In fact, Risk of Rain isn't exactly an easy game, and I'm still wondering whether I like the huntress or the engineer more than any other.
The statistics of the character progression is fast paced, which will result in a level up every once in a while, but the strength of a good build is all about acquiring the right items at the right point in time. The monsters will keep on spawning till you reach the specific goal that every level requires, but despite having all the time you could possibly ask for, the more you stick with a level, the more creatures you'll have to face.
Get your lightweight free download below here, it's just 55MBs, and let us know what do you think about it!

Free Download: Democracy 3
We've changed our mind, after having spent some time in Democracy 3 we decided that it had to be our next free download, despite it looking pretty hard to get into, because once you get the hang of things the fun is infinite!
And even though you might not be the person who likes having to deal constantly with statistics, flowcharts and overly complex interfaces, after the first match everything will look so simple that you'll dive into the next one without hesitation, that's guaranteed! In fact, Democracy 3 can be described as the most advanced strategical game who treats real problems of real countries. After all, haven't you always wanted to be the prime minister of your country?
Taking decisions is quite hard, because the entire population is divided into faction, and whether a few might like the fact that you've increased the taxes (I wonder who, really) the poor and mid-earners will start a revolution. Crime level needs to be kept under control, and what's better than increasing the number of armed policemen? Perhaps something should, but in either case, this way does work just fine!
But I can understand that reading about such a complex game can be disorientating, so, just scroll down till our free download. It's less than 150MB, you should have it in less than 5 minutes!

Free Download - Avadon 2: The Corruption
Readers, downloaders and occasional viewers. Today we're very pleased to announce that we are finally be able to release the newly released king of all role-playing games, Avadon 2 The Corruption. Developed by Spiderweb Software, and published by themselves, it's a sequel to their best seller, needless to say that it is well worth a try considering that its free download will be below here.
If you're into such games, it'll probably need no explanations. It's a straightforward RPG turn-based that offers 5 playable classes set in an enormous world for you to explore. Because aside the main quest-line, it's been put a lot of effort into the playability side, by including side quests, dungeons and more mysterious areas to mess with.
In Avadon 2 The Corruption you'll have to deal with a lot of decision-making situations, and based on your choices, you'll get a different ending. Unfortunately, just because it needs to be said, the game isn't however showing a top notch graphic, but I, and hopefully all of you, have nothing really against playing an RPG run on the same engine that made Spiderweb Software famous among the lovers of the genre.
So yeah, why would you keep reading when you can simply reach the free download here? Don't waste your time, get the game right now!

Free Download: Nuclear Throne
It was about time! Finally we come back with our free download that you can't really miss! Today's pick is the brand new Vlambeer's Nuclear Throne, a game about running, shooting, then running again and perhaps even shooting some more!
It's an action roguelike that came out on Steam earlier this month as an early access, needless to say that it was quite hard to get it working. Like any other game in the likes of it, Nuclear Throne is a hectic 2D shooter procedurally generated where you'll have to guide a group of mutants through hostile levels in order to reach the end zone. Every character has its own pros and cons, but there isn't literally a single one that isn't fun to play.
The pixel art is wonderful, just like the sound effects that make this game even more explosive than it should be. There's no time to think nor to wait, you need to be 100% focused on the task, or you'll end up by dying in less than a minute. We knew already that these guys were able to pull out spectacular games such as Super Crate Box, but we came to the conclusion that Nuclear Throne had to become our free download on this end of October. It simply deserves too much!
Without further ado, get it through our high speed mirror now or never! No well, just joking, get it whenever you feel like.

Free Download: Iesabel
Released on a multitude of platforms by Forever Entertainment Iesabel reminds a lot of games such as Diablo or Path of Exile, it's essentially a hack 'n' slash with great graphics and an interesting UI. In addition, for once here at We Made Them Free we decided to go beyond the limit we previously had in regards of MBs we could upload, this free download is quite big, but that's only because we believe that this is a great game.
The UI may recall something that would run on tablets and phones, though when you get to the controls on PC you'll realize that everything's so smooth that it won't cause any issue. Iesabel is firstly a single played game with a lot of content to enjoy, but when you're done with it, there have been added a significant amount of co-op areas where you can team up with up to 7 friends! I can only imagine how messy would the battlefield become whereas playing in 8 at the same time.
Unfortunately, and especially for those who love the customization, Iesabel lacks quite a lot on that side. There are two classes, the caster (Witch) and the warrior (Barbarian), but I promise that if you can deal with this, the game will be a wonderful experience. With great responses on the touch version that came out this summer, the PC version can only be as good, that's why it became our free download choice.
Get it with no hesitation and let us know if it can be a genre you'd like to see more from us. I personally loved it, I hope you'll too.

Free Download: Knock Knock
No, this isn't a cartoon by any means, but it's our last free download nonetheless! After a silent beginning of October due to the lack of interesting game releases we're coming back with the horrific Knock Knock, came out on Steam the 4th. The question is, are you ready to play it? Despite the look, I can guarantee this isn't an experience to understimate.
Knock Knock is a horror adventure game developed by the russian Ice-Pick Lodge that'll make you question your own sanity while trying to survive every night in a cabin lost in the woods. Monsters are knocking at your door, but you should as well check if there are any breaches that may let them enter easily, the light is your friend, the darkness isn't. That's why the game revolves mainly around fixing light sources.
Clearly, you can't run towards the creatures labeled as "guests", so you should instead keep yourself well away from any different being than you, hiding behind beds and other objects may do the trick, but as you proceed through the nights, the guests will become more aggressive spotting you constantly.
How long can you survive? Get your free download right here, because Knock Knock isn't a game that you can miss.

Free Download: Doorways
Let's face it, we were lacking on horror free downloads, perhaps because here at We Made Them Free we can't really play those kind of games, they're too scary and most of the times definitely too huge to even think about uploading the free version on our mirrors. Then again, Saibot Studios' Doorways got greenlit, and I have to tell you, I was utterly looking forward to give it a try.
It's a first person psychological/survival horror of fine quality and it's supposed to be released in 4 different episodes. Right now there are the first two chapters live, which is more than enough to understand how extremely horrific things get as you proceed throughout the quite confusional storyline. At first you, playing as Thomas Foster, don't remember anything. Why are you in this dark cave? Why don't you feel threatened at all?
Well, as you gather some clues left as messages on piece of papers you will then remember what were you supposed to do. In fact, Doorways is all about finding 4 psychopaths (one per chapter) escaped from you and bring them to justice. Needless to say that you're going to be struggling not only with these people, but also with tremendous visions and someone, or something, lurking in the dark.
Doorways surprised me quite a lot, it's executed so well that I still have to recover from my latest scare, and if you think you have what it takes to complete it, here you have your free download.

Free Download: Volgarr The Viking
Fancy some really, really hardcore games? Well, we might have found what's probably going to keep you entertained for the next couple of decades. Volgarr The Viking is merciless like no other games that I can think of right now, and since it's coming as always as a free download, I bet you will regret your choice when you decided that you wanted to give it a try.
This cruel action game successfully crowdfunded not a lot of time ago is close to be impossible, in fact, Volgarr The Viking wants us to remember how games were supposed to be difficult back in the days, though I feel like the concept here has been overly stressed. You know nothing about what are you there for, at the start a godly voice will impose you to rise, and accordingly, your adventure will start right from there. Smashing lizard-men and bees may not seem fun, but once you get used to the controls which are unexpectedly quite a few, the good times will start. Providing that you don't keep to die in the first screen.
Everything here harks back to early 90s games, the graphics, the sounds, and even the lack of storyline, but you know what, while playing it I felt like a real viking, which should be essentially the idea behind the whole experience. Plus, considering that we're providing you a free download, there are no excuses for you to pass this one.
Volgarr The Viking is a must-play if you grew when games just like these were the only ones, and who knows, perhaps you could only play once in a while in your local arcade. Nevertheless, get it now!

Free Download: Legend of Dungeon
It's been a long way the one that brought Legend of Dungeon on Steam, a promising game that had to go through the unreliable Greenlight proving grounds but became victorious, eventually. You know something has to be good once it has been approved by the majority of the community, and since we loved it, why wouldn't we let you try it using our free download premium formula?
Legend of Dungeon is visually astounding, despite it being a mix of plain 2D graphics with just a tiny bit of 3D involved. It's an hack 'n' slash dungeon crawling adventure like no others, team up with up to other 3 players and start to descend through the hostile levels with increasing difficulties. The stronger the mobs are, the better rewards your going to get, the game fast paced, shiny and quite difficult if you don't pay attention to traps and hard rooms.
Did I mention that is completely procedurally generated? Not a single playthrough will look like the same, which translates in mere fun for hours and hours. Legend of Dungeon has the highest replay value that I've ever experienced, in fact, once you learn what does any item do, it's even better!
As, always, the free download we offer shall be considered as a trial, if you end up by loving the game like I believe you will, buy it afterwards!
