Free Download: Magicite

I can ensure you, we finally got this. Magicite is the hottest Steam early access game right now, it's fun and combines various genres including roguelike, survival, action. A revolutionary title someone might say, and of course, after having spent a few hours on it, we totally had to agree.

It reminds of Terraria for sure, but like it's been already said it's a whole different story. Perhaps the graphics are what keep the two games close to each other, the combat system too, actually. However, in Magicite you've got a lot of stuff to do. You need to keep track of your hunger, craft new and better items to survive longer and hunt down your enemies, and also a wonderful scoring system.

That's right, you're not for once surviving for the sake of doing it. The game rewards you with a score once you'll eventually die, and I found it to be literally fantastic. The leveling is straightforward, but if you count also the tons achievements, the customization of new characters is also quite varied and fresh. We will provide constant updates together with our free download, so, don't even worry about having an outdated game!

Free Download: Shovel Knight

It's finally here! The long awaited retro release Shovel Knight has been released on Steam and GOG just a handful of hours ago and we've got already the free download. We really wanted to surprise you, did we succeed?

It's a lovely action platformer that is most likely going to make you all nostalgic. At least those who were already playing games when the SNES was still a thing. Shovel Knight however is very unique if we leave the aesthetics aside, because as the title suggests already the hero this time has only a shovel to fight the numerous enemies that will be constantly thrown at you.

The formula is the one everyone expects. A multitude of levels that end with a big boss fight. And yet, what surprises everyone is how flawless the game plays. The controls are easy to get, and there aren't a lot of fancy moves to perform (really, you just need to learn two or three combinations in order to learn the basics). But it isn't easy at all, you'll have to get used to it, and it will take a reasonable amount of time, I can guarantee you that!

The free download is down below here, don't miss it! You need to get this while it's still hot so that you can challenge everyone as they go through the game for the first time.

Free Download: The Floor Is Jelly

We've had a bit of a rough May, I guess you all know that. Though now we look at all the time we have ahead of us, and start big with a new free download! This is The Floor Is Jelly, released a couple of days ago on Steam, winner of an IGF award and provider of great fun.

It's a minimalistic, yet colorful puzzle platformer coming with interesting mechanics and in general, a wonderful appearance overall. You're casted in a floating world where all the ground is, as you probably know already, is jelly. Thanks to this peculiar feature, that everything that's solid has, you're going to be able to jump high, covering unimaginable distances.

The Floor Is Jelly is just a relaxing adventure, easy to pick up but not as easy to finish. In fact, towards the end things aren't going to be so smooth as they initially were. Obstacles of many sorts will be put between you and the exit of the many levels you'll have to go through, therefore, the chance for it to become a pretty hardcore challenge is there (depending on your skill level, of course).

The free download is as usual below here, grab it now before anyone else and have a lot of fun!

In FarSky you play as a scuba diver who's left alone in the ocean after an accident with his submarine. The air you can store is limited, and you'll have to  be good at resources management if you want to survive till you find all the pieces of your vehicle scattered around the procedural generated submerged map.

There are bases where you can chill, cook, craft new tools and most importatly, breath. But you don't want to spend a lot of time there. There are also predators willing to feast on your dead body, therefore it's smart to change your location often in order to avoid getting tracked by them.

Free Download: Life Goes On

Look what do we have here, 2 releases in 2 days! We're going stronger than ever. Life Goes On came out on Steam a few hours ago, but we were prepared for this extremely hectic game, and in fact, here it is in the usual free download form.

The game has certainly some similarities with Rogue Legacy, but aside the many knights that you're going to be playing throughout the difficult puzzle levels, this is much more good looking than its big brother. The Graphics for instance are proposed in a seemingly 3D manner, and the sound as well feels extremely appropriate.

In Life Goes On you'll have to sacrifice many young heroes to make the luckiest one go to the next level. Some of them are going to be needed dead on a floor of spikes, some other killed by a big chainsaw, but in the end of the day, all that matters is that one will reach the cup of life put at the end of every puzzle. There's no combat, just a simple platforming experience here, but due to the many difficulties that you're going to face, adding some fighting would've been just way too much!

The free download can be acquired right below here, have fun and don't forget to come back to get all the future We Made Them Free releases.

Free Download: FootLOL Epic Fail League

Alright, there hasn't been a lot of interesting games coming out this month, I guess you can all agree with this, though yesterday something tickled our desire of making you happy. It was FootLOL Epic Fail League to be precise, and it took us less than a day to make it available as a free download!

Clearly, the UI shows it was supposed to be initially just a handheld device game, though due to it being so fun and quite unique, the PC port came in right away. If you like football (or soccer haha), this is a casual game that at least slightly reminds of it. But instead of controlling the players, you're going to be using all sort of mad skills to let your team win with ease.

How about having the chance of landing mines on the other goal keeper? Or granting super speed to your players? In FootLOL Epic Fail League you can do such things, and every match ends up by being outrageously hilarious.

By acquiring our free download you get the access to even the multiplayer environment, and I swear, it's been a while since I had this much fun. Get it right now and start to drop mines all over the field!

Free Download: Goat Simulator

A game that needs no introduction, am I right? Goat Simulator just hit Steam a couple of days ago and internet went totally crazy, then again, when it comes to pay for such an uncommon game I know that many will just end up by forgetting about it. But that's why We Made Them Free exist! And as our first free download of the month we decided that this one was perfect.

Goat Simulator is indeed a third person simulation game where you're going to be playing as a very special goat. You have a limited area in which you can freely roam, and your only goal, is to destroy pretty much anything you see. Bite humans, headbutt into cars to make them explode, perform crazy backflips while being in air.

But there's much more to it, you can get into many time trial challenges, create your own custom game, compete in the world leaderboards and obtain a huge variety of achievements. In essence, although I would've never thought, Goat Simulator is a rather complete game despite it looking so, childish.

Get our free download right now by clicking on the button below here. It's about 500MBs, but nothing you can't handle I suppose!

Free Download: Mercenary Kings

I believe you've all played at least once the old Metal Slug, am I right? Literally everyone has passed through that stage of his life. And now that Mercenary Kings has finally hit the stable full version, it will bring you back at those arcade shooting times you might have forgot.

Like it's been said, our free download reminds definitely of the king of all the platformer shooters, except that this one is much more coloured and astoundingly more polished in regards of plot as well as graphics. Which, don't get me wrong, they're still 2D, but the pixel art that you're about to see while jumping into the action feels just too good to not mention it.

In Mercenary Kings you can decide to join whichever quest is available, and they're divided into gathering ones - that are needed mostly for the peculiar crafting system - rescues, and even killing missions. Having an 360 controller may perhaps be better if you wish to try it out, because despite it being completely playable without it, I felt like the game was definitely meant to be played with one of them.

Get our free download of Mercenary Kings below, reload your guns, and kill anything that moves!

Free Download: LUFTRAUSERS

We know that you've been waiting for this, in fact, we all were! Vlambeer's next big hit that came out on Steam as well as GOG.com earlier this week has finally landed here as a free download! LUFTRAUSERS was just a nice and easy flash game a couple of years ago, though if we now look at it, nothing would suggest how it all started.

It's a fun arcade shooter with simple controls that however, offers an enormous replayability value capable of entertaining you for days without becoming boring, at all! The concept is quite easy though, you're going to be playing a fully customizable plane in a cruel warfare where the other planes will most likely try to take you down running straight into your body, and the boats are featured with powerful cannons.

The color palette is somewhat phenomenal, and the concept of stopping to shoot in order to repair any damage you've suffered made me question why didn't we see a nice idea like this until now. Keep your combo multiplier high and get all the achievements to unlock different weapons, propulsion systems and bodies. LUFTRAUSERS isn't just good because of how brilliant are the minds behind this, but it's great because despite being new, I believe that almost any machine will be able to run it.

The free download is as always down here, get your rauser, complete the easy tutorial and you're already set to go!

Free Download: Dunmaku Unlimited 2

It's been a while since we released something, we struggled a lot to find anything worthwhile but today we're determined to finally do something about this. Dunmaku Unlimited 2 came out on Steam the last week after having been on Desura for quite a while, we tried it, and we fell in love at first sight.

It's a top down shooter that comes with the Asian aesthetics that we've all seen throughout our videogaming experiences, I believe. This free download means a lot to us, because on top of breaking our silence, it managed to bring back some memories of when at least we used to play such games on arcade cabins. It's a great bullet hell in terms of music as well as flashing colors. The gameplay is however pretty straightforward, but in the end of the day, this is all we could hope for.

Big numbers and great combo values will also put you in the position of entering a sort of power mode that will surely help you in the deadly boss battles. Throw in some fancy ways of customizing your spaceship that will alter the way you shoot and here you have the formula of the perfect fun provided by Dunmaku Unlimited 2.

Get your free download now before you end up by regretting it. It's just below here:

Free Download: Infested Planet

Infested Planet has been on Steam with the early access formula for months, though when yesterday it finally reached the version 1.00, it immediately started to draw much more attention than before. Therefore, it took us less than a minute to decide that our next free download had to be it.

It's a top-down RTS that will let you control just 5 soldiers in their quest to survive hordes of aliens that invaded the earth's outposts. Surrounded by the invaders, you'll have to decide how to split your marines, how many resources do you want to spend during the waves, and at the same time move forward to conquest what was once lost.

Yet, unlike many RTSs, Infested Planet can be definitely considered a game for everyone. Its slow pace lets you adjust your moves in real time, and the easy controls set to work with the usage of just your mouse (and really a couple of keyboard's buttons) are extremely easy to learn. The campaign is divided in quests that will however become significantly harder towards the end, and as a matter of fact, I guess it'll keep me entertained for at least a few more days.

The free download can be found right below here and the installer takes 45MB or your hard drive. You have no excuses to skip this one!

Free Download: The Yawhg

We weren't exactly planning to give this one a try, we like good looking games, and The Yawhg is definitely one of those, and yet, when asking around for our possible next release the name came out a limited amount of times. Though you know, we've also had a lot of games that started out small but ended up by being a tremendous hit, and in the end of the day, here is our free download of this one.

The Yawhg can be seen as a text-based RPG, but of course, the artwork is perhaps one of the greatest features of the game. The original soundtrack is completely what you would expect from a game like this one, and despite the limited length, the almost infinite paths that you can take along the 6 in-game weeks make the whole experience wonderful to start over with a smile on your face.

You can choose to play with up to 4 character, and your goal is to train through many occupations in order to gain useful stats that will be needed for when the most feared storm will hit the city. Literally everything is useful, but at every weekend will come with a challenge that you'll have to face. From it, you can either gain more strength, but also lose more that what you've gotten throughout the entire week of hard work.

I loved how everything can drastically change with just a wrong choice, and I hope that you'll like that too! The free download is always right below here, have fun!

Free Download: Angvik

Although the game we're promoting today isn't exactly new, due to the recent release on Steam, and therefore with its boost in popularity we thought that it was anyway a good move to provide a free download of it regardless. Angvik is a 2D roguelike platformer that reminds of Rogue Legacy from a certain point of view.

Playing as a multitude of different classes, your goal is going to be able to reach the central hall of the castle that's been taken over by a barbarian. The graphics are definitely cute, but don't think for a second that you won't find any trouble to win. Angvik is set in an unforgiving land, and even the most beautiful creature can turn out to be deadly.

The durability system is by far what makes Angvik an entertaining game like no others, in fact, armors, as well as weapons will break from time to time, and unless you find something else to wear, you're going to be running around completely naked. The birds seem to be the only aid that with which the game is provided, so keep track of them as you'll find yourself in a bad spot more often that you'd think.

The free download is right below here as usual, the game takes a little less than 50MB of your hard drive and there's nothing to install!

Free Download: Banished

We were waiting for this one since when it was revealed the last year, and gladly, we were right. Banished is a ton of strategical fun that came out on Steam less than 2 days ago, despite the super appropriate price though, we felt like there would have been a lot of people that could've used a free download. So here we are!

Banished is a third person town-building strategy game where you take control of a group of travelers determined to settle down in a new place having almost no resources at start. The game does not follow the skill trees schemes that often times are preventing you to build what you want at the right point in time. You're free of managing your workers in all the possible way right from the very beginning; which is what makes the game so appealing overall.

There are a lot of occupations, from the basic ones, to the most innovative ones such as teaching or perhaps healing. In fact, it's basically a simulator rather than just a mere strategy game. The winter is one of the most deadly threats for your people, but so is hunger, and guess who's the only one in charge of dealing with these? YOU!

The free download can be obtained right below here, don't waste your time here!

Free Download: Jazzpunk

Today we're coming with perhaps the most interesting game of this February, a game that despite how cryptic it may appear, results soon in an insanely fun adventure. When I think of Jazzpunk I see art mixed up with comical scenes as well as a pretty unique storyline that feels fresh in all regards. And obviously, as soon as we managed to come up with a free download, here we are releasing it.

It's a first person adventure game where you play as an agent of some sort of a weird secret association. You won't definitely understand what are you supposed to do right from the beginning, and because of the open-world-like experience that Jazzpunk proposes, the process of learning the basics is literally fantastic. Every person has an unusual story to tell, which will indeed make you laugh no matter what.

There are side quests too, but in all honesty, the main story will keep you entertained for quite a while. Therefore, if you like weird weapons, great irony capable of putting a big smile right on your face in every situation, Jazzpunk is definitely something you don't want to miss.

Even because it's we're giving it as a free download, so hurry up! Click on the download button below here and get ready to enter the most weird world that has ever been invented in all videogame's history!

Free Download: Probably Archery

After an explosive January, finally we manage to release something interesting even for this month. And, don't get me wrong, Probably Archery that came out just today on Steam is indeed interesting, but is as well the hardest game we've put our hands on since an insanely long amount of time. In fact, considering the price and combining it with the tons of hours that you'll most probably have to invest in order to get used to its controls, a free download is what we needed.

It's a 3D first person kind of shooter which can be seen as QWOP and Surgeon Simulator coming together in a single game. There are a lot of game modes, but the one you'll have to mess with the most is the standard target one. It's an experience that requires insane focus as every part of the two arms at your disposal has to be controlled by none other than yourself.

I feel like it's remarkable how Probably Archery came to this point. For those who don't know, it originated from a game jam the last year, and after the initial success, the developers decided that they had to expand it. Thanks to a quite short Greenlight campaign the full game has now landed on the biggest digital distribution platform, and now, here we have its free download!

Don't wait any longer because you'll have a lot to learn from now on. Get it or regret it later.

Free Download: KickBeat Steam Edition

It's rhythm time, it totally is. Today in fact we're releasing the updated version of a revolutionary game named in fact, after the digital distribution platform it got released on: KickBeat Steam Edition! Featuring new songs and an online ladder for the more hardcore players.

We're having a blast here at We Made Them Free with it, because instead of reusing over and over again the usual arrows to hit based on the song's beat, now you're going to defeat a horde of fighters with your Kung Fu moves. It's quite difficult to explain how a single stage works, but I believe that most of you know already how does it look like. Thankfully here's our free download, so you can get into it without having to pay a dime.

The graphics are surprisingly good, and the wide range of songs at your disposal makes the game suitable for anyone, I can guarantee you that. KickBeat Steam Edition is not only innovative, it's the best rhythm based game I've ever played considering how precise the synchronization turned out to be.

Get your free download right below as always, but don't forget to purchase it if you really love what you've got for free alright?
