Free Download: Doorways

Let's face it, we were lacking on horror free downloads, perhaps because here at We Made Them Free we can't really play those kind of games, they're too scary and most of the times definitely too huge to even think about uploading the free version on our mirrors. Then again, Saibot Studios' Doorways got greenlit, and I have to tell you, I was utterly looking forward to give it a try.

It's a first person psychological/survival horror of fine quality and it's supposed to be released in 4 different episodes. Right now there are the first two chapters live, which is more than enough to understand how extremely horrific things get as you proceed throughout the quite confusional storyline. At first you, playing as Thomas Foster, don't remember anything. Why are you in this dark cave? Why don't you feel threatened at all?

Well, as you gather some clues left as messages on piece of papers you will then remember what were you supposed to do. In fact, Doorways is all about finding 4 psychopaths (one per chapter) escaped from you and bring them to justice. Needless to say that you're going to be struggling not only with these people, but also with tremendous visions and someone, or something, lurking in the dark.

Doorways surprised me quite a lot, it's executed so well that I still have to recover from my latest scare, and if you think you have what it takes to complete it, here you have your free download.

Free Download: Volgarr The Viking

Fancy some really, really hardcore games? Well, we might have found what's probably going to keep you entertained for the next couple of decades. Volgarr The Viking is merciless like no other games that I can think of right now, and since it's coming as always as a free download, I bet you will regret your choice when you decided that you wanted to give it a try.

This cruel action game successfully crowdfunded not a lot of time ago is close to be impossible, in fact, Volgarr The Viking wants us to remember how games were supposed to be difficult back in the days, though I feel like the concept here has been overly stressed. You know nothing about what are you there for, at the start a godly voice will impose you to rise, and accordingly, your adventure will start right from there. Smashing lizard-men and bees may not seem fun, but once you get used to the controls which are unexpectedly quite a few, the good times will start. Providing that you don't keep to die in the first screen.

Everything here harks back to early 90s games, the graphics, the sounds, and even the lack of storyline, but you know what, while playing it I felt like a real viking, which should be essentially the idea behind the whole experience. Plus, considering that we're providing you a free download, there are no excuses for you to pass this one.

Volgarr The Viking is a must-play if you grew when games just like these were the only ones, and who knows, perhaps you could only play once in a while in your local arcade. Nevertheless, get it now!

Free Download: Legend of Dungeon

It's been a long way the one that brought Legend of Dungeon on Steam, a promising game that had to go through the unreliable Greenlight proving grounds but became victorious, eventually. You know something has to be good once it has been approved by the majority of the community, and since we loved it, why wouldn't we let you try it using our free download premium formula?

Legend of Dungeon is visually astounding, despite it being a mix of plain 2D graphics with just a tiny bit of 3D involved. It's an hack 'n' slash dungeon crawling adventure like no others, team up with up to other 3 players and start to descend through the hostile levels with increasing difficulties. The stronger the mobs are, the better rewards your going to get, the game fast paced, shiny and quite difficult if you don't pay attention to traps and hard rooms.

Did I mention that is completely procedurally generated? Not a single playthrough will look like the same, which translates in mere fun for hours and hours. Legend of Dungeon has the highest replay value that I've ever experienced, in fact, once you learn what does any item do, it's even better!

As, always, the free download we offer shall be considered as a trial, if you end up by loving the game like I believe you will, buy it afterwards!

Free Download: Zafehouse Diaries

Just about 3 days after its Steam release here we come with the free download of Zafehouse Diaries, a game that's been loved way before his latest appearance on the most famous digital gaming platform. In fact, the game's not exactly new, as it was firstly released on GOG and Desura months ago with a decent success, I would say.

Zafehouse Diaries is a strategical zombie game developed and published by Screwfly Studios with a very solid and evolved relations system. The graphics are almost entirely static, though the game shines definitely elsewhere, for instance when it comes to having to deal with troubles of any kind inside of the group of 5 survivors you'll have to manage and keep safe. And aside the fact that there are 2 modes, the sauce is always the same: don't let them fight against eachother because the one and only enemy is going to be the brain-eater swarm.

A match takes place in a small town randomly generated with always different kind of resources and level of difficulty, you can make your survivors hunt down the zombies - providing you have enough bullets - build traps with tools that have been found, or even make them passively wait to be rescued, who knows, it might work!

Anyway, it's rather hard to understand how hard can a match be if you haven't already played it, someone will always accuse a mate of stealing, the girl will be always threatened by the big fat guy and so on. That's why Zafehouse Diaries will prove whether you've a good sense of management or not. Hit our free download below here and have fun!

Free Download: Game Dev Tycoon

At last even our first free download of September is live! This time featuring a whole new strategy/simulation concept, after all, aren't you sick of playing games that look all the same? If that is the case we are proud to announce that we've the critically acclaimed Game Dev Tycoon now, and considering how fast was its Greenlight campaign before the official acceptance onto Steam, this one HAD TO BE GOOD.

It basically makes the player play as a completely independent game developer that started in his garage with a some spare money to invest and a lot of great ideas to make successful games. Throughout the time that passes quite fast you're going to be assisting once again at all the greatest console launches along the evolution of the personal computer, and since we all know which had been more popular, we should also be able to take the right choices while deciding on which platform your games are going to be released.

The press can be cruel when it comes to judge a new idea you bravely decided to create, perhaps a space-FPS for girls was definitely a bad concept haha - can't deny I really tried to make that game, virtually. But if you really manage to survive your first 5 years in your garage and you get the money rolling in, at one point you're going to be wanting to expand, hiring programmers and maybe even setting up a company's office. In all honesty, to enjoy Game Dev Tycoon you have to be that person who dreamed of creating his own games, or simply by being ready for a hard challenge.

And thankfully, the free download by us provided is just below here, have a lot of fun. Oh, don't be afraid of experimentating new mixtures of genres, one might become the real shit!
