Free Download: Ittle Dew

What's up folks? Today I'm here to talk about a free downloadable game I personally enjoy like i enjoy very few of those lately: Ittle Dew.

Being a huge fan of the Zelda series myself, as soon as i saw the first screenshot i thought "I couldn't miss this one", and that's why we're offering you the free download. The game itself may look like a straight Zelda clone, and we had some many of them through the years. Fact is this time thing are different: Ittle is more of a anti-hero, she starts off with a wooden stick instead of sword and she speaks a lots, really not like our old Link pal. But the one who cannot really keep his mouth shut is Tippsie, a flying fox who's meant to be Navi's parody, who's constantly making fun of Ittle Dew source of inspiration: just think that, the first time Ittle picks up a "heart" from a dead enemy, she's literally eating it, and Tippsie reacts with an increasing disgusted look.

The game itself is basically a huge puzzle game disguised as an adventure game: you'll find yourself crawling toward dungeons to push blocks around, pull levers and basically set things on fire. You'll encounter various enemies, each one with its own cartoonish look, and some of them also have their own personalities. Fact is the fighting system feels broken to me, and that's because you cannot move while swinging your weapons, ending up in a disappointing bet on predicting where the enemy is going to move hoping he runs into your sword, instead of smashing the shit out of him.

The puzzles might not be very imaginative but they are well designed and often have multiple solutions. Bosses are well designed, and, despite the game itself being rather short, if you are willing to take you time to collect everything you need you might get access to the optional Master Cave. To sum up, Ittle Dew is a great little game with an amazing graphic style and a tremendous sarcastic mood, and it's going to have you glued to your screen at least for a good 3 hours. Try it, it's free!
